FOUNDATIONS WALL CONSTRUCTION (See Detail A) 50mm x 25mm counter batten creates 25mm ventilated cavity. The batten then carries the external cladding which effectively becomes a weather shield and is not relied on to create a waterproof wall. External cladding on the Retreat is ex.100mm x 38mm vertical semi-circular profiled tongue & grooved board. Internal wall is infilled with 100mm fibreglass or 50mm Jablite polystyrene insulation board, heat retention value ('U' value) of 0.5 W / m2K. Internally lined with plasterboard or tongue and grooved pine board. FLOOR CONSTRUCTION Joists carried on Blockwork Footings. Minimum 50mm ventilation air gap maintained under floor construction. ROOF CONSTRUCTION 100mm fibre glass insulation laid between truss rafters, over ceiling consisting of tongue & groove ceiling board, installed beneath vapour barrier; heat retention value ('U' value) of 0.4 W / m2K. Alternative warm roof design with exposed rafters, T & G boarding and insulation on top of that. High quality Western Red Cedar shingles roof covering on 50mm x 25mm tanalised softwood battens.
